Drägerwerk New build House 71 Lübeck

Company run competition. As a new entrance to the company grounds, a new building is planned to replace an existing building from the 1960s. As well as a prestigious reception area, the space will include a conference floor, three office floors and a boardroom. In addition, the roof level of the neighbouring building, originating from the 1980s, is to be renovated to provide further space for events. The design alludes to the dominant facade structure and materiality of the surrounding buildings and interprets these in a contemporary architectural language. With its raised ground floor and roof level, the clearly structured, seven-story structure subtly reflects its surroundings and accentuates the main facade. The structure of the punched window facades also addresses this design principle. The soffits are positioned at different angles so that the details of the prominent structure undergo a subtle change in appearance.
