Harburg Schlossinsel Hamburg

Limited open, two-stage competition to elicit ideas for urban and landscape design, in collaboration with Breimann & Bruun, Hamburg. Taking into consideration the historic fabric of the area, the urban design for the Harburg Schlossinsel includes a series of new buildings for a dynamic mix of residential, office, commercial and cultural use. As a large open space, the castle park forms the centre of the restructured Harburg Schlossinsel and adjacent inland port. The extension of the old Schlossstraße provides a new sightline to the castle in the west of the park and connects the island to the Harburg area.
