Main Building HTW Dresden

The main building of HTW Dresden (Dresden University of Applied Sciences) was built in three phases during 1956-1965. The result of a competition win, the project focuses on the conversion of the original library space on the ground floor to a cafeteria with seating for 120 and a 300 m² presentation, exhibition and meeting area, coupled with an extension of the foyer to the central information area. In addition, the project, carried out in several phases during the normal operation of the university, includes the installation of a lecture hall in the former cafeteria space, the renovation of four further lecture halls and the “Senatssaal”, as well as the complete technical and structural renovation and redesign of the nine storey building.
